Hospitality and Happiness -

Two aspects that are vital to effective coaching

All experienced coaches know that "clients own the agenda." That is, the client sets the topic and direction for the coaching relationship. Coaches, in turn, take responsibility for facilitation. In this presentation, two topics — happiness and hospitality — will be introduced as vital components of effective coaching facilitation. Dr. Robert Biswas-Diener will draw on the results of research to explain why these topics are beneficial in general and to the coaching relationship specifically. In each case, he will discuss specific ways that these two topics can inform coaching practice and, where relevant, he will provide examples from coaching.
